Tell us about yourself!

Bellami Hair Extension certified and 25 years deep in the hair game. I’m your go-to for luxury hair extensions and hair color, while keeping your hairs health a top priority. Whether you love a natural look of a lived-in blonde, a bold eye-catching vivid color, or anything in between, I’ve got you. Let’s create your dream hair!
Off the clock, I’m probably watching hair videos, on adventures with my pitty Philip, or volunteering. I’ve spent nearly a decade fostering and advocating for pit bulls, because good hair and good dogs are a big part of who I am.

What’s your experience?: I’ve been doing hair in Minneapolis for 25 years.

What’s your specialty?: My two great loves are Extensions and Color. I think it’s because they both can have such a high impact of change, and both have the ability to truly shift the way a client sees themselves and gives them a huge confidence boost. There’s nothing better as a stylist then to hear a client say “this is the hair I’ve always wanted!”

Why do you love what you do?: The biggest reason is getting to create real connections with people everyday and be apart of making them feel their best. I love that the world of hair and fashion is always evolving, so as stylist we are always evolving. I love that there’s always something new to learn and grow from, so it never gets boring. After 25 years I still absolutely love my job, and I feel so lucky for that.

How do you express yourself? : Maybe a predictable answer, but the biggest way would probably be my hair. I’ve had just about every single color over the years.

How do you get out of a creative rut?: I find a class to take. Education leads to inspiration and fuels my creativity.

Where do you go in the Twin Cities to be inspired?: We are so lucky to have an abundance of green spaces, lakes and rivers in Minneapolis. That’s where I find a lot of inspiration. I nerd out on the endless gradients of color in nature that create depth and dimension.

Most noteworthy era?: I love the vibe of the 70’s. A lot of our current hair trends are a nod to that era. From the voluminous, layered, and ‘feathered’ styles, the Brigitte Bardot inspired curtain bang, or my favorite the Shag.

What do you do for self-care?: Touch grass, move my body and turn my phone on ‘Do not disturb’.
I find disconnecting and getting out into nature very centering.

Piece of advice for those struggling with self-confidence?: I am a big believer in positive affirmations. Too often we talk about ourselves, either internally or externally, in only negative ways. We could all learn to be kinder to ourselves.

Must-have product at Gem?: K-18 all day!
