My Experience:

I don’t believe great hair changes who you are, I believe it reveals who you’ve always been. 

For more than 30 years, I’ve had the honor of helping people discover hair that feels authentic, effortless, and uniquely their own. As a third-generation stylist and founder of Gem Salon, I’ve built my career on the belief that beautiful hair begins with understanding the person and not with a trend.

I specialize in modern short hair, precision razor cutting, and sophisticated color, with a particular passion for helping women embrace gray in a way that feels elevated, intentional, and completely their own. Whether you’re refining your signature look or ready for a meaningful change, my goal is to reveal the best version of who you already are.

I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, InStyle, Refinery29, MSP Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, and MSP Weddings. While those opportunities have been an honor, what continues to inspire me most are the everyday moments in the salon…when someone looks in the mirror and feels more confident, more comfortable, and more like themselves!

Beauty isn’t about looking younger or keeping up with trends; it’s about creating harmony between who you are, how you live, and how you want to feel. Great hair is always about you, no one else.

Piece of advice for those struggling with self-confidence?

I struggle sometimes, too. I think knowing it’s a natural part of the human condition is helpful. This is your one life, so don’t be afraid to push back on the limits and live in a way that’s true to you. Find a friend that reminds you of how amazing you are. If you don’t have one of those, hairstylists are really good at that.
