What’s your experience?

I've been working in customer experience for over 10 years. Now I'm a therapist moonlighting at the front desk from time to time, and helping out behind the scenes at Gem.

What’s your speciality?

Organization, creating equitable salon experiences for everyone, and setting the vibes for holistic self-care.

Why do you love what you do?

I love that the salon space offers a creative outlet and that everyone here is so warm and authentic.

How do you express yourself?

Through music and aesthetics. I think I'm best understood by anything that excites the senses.

How do you get out of a creative rut?

Through learning something new -- I feel inspired by fresh ideas and insight!

Where do you go in the Twin Cities to be inspired?

Transmission to sip on a whiskey sour and dance to 70s and 80s new wave! I always leave feeling a rush of appreciation for creative visionaries who push boundaries on what we consider art.

Most noteworthy era?

The 70s! Experimental design, fashion, and culture created a new zeitgeist.

What do you do for self-care?

Travel, cooking, and spending time at home being silly with friends.

Piece of advice for those struggling with self-confidence?

Honor yourself by seeing yourself. Why are you hiding? If they don't like you at your most authentic, f*** 'em.
